Sausage Stuffed Jalapeños Recipe
Spicy, savory, and incredibly cheesy—these sausage stuffed jalapeños are the perfect party appetizer that will leave everyone wanting more.
Ingredients
- 12 large fresh jalapeños
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 lb ground sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for less heat. Set aside.
- In a skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat and let it cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Stuff each jalapeño half with the sausage and cheese mixture, slightly mounding the filling.
- Place the stuffed jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, and serve warm.
