Jeera rice is a fragrant and flavorful Indian side dish made with basmati rice and cumin seeds. It pairs perfectly with curries, dals, and grilled meats.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp ghee or oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1 small bay leaf (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the Rice: Wash basmati rice under running water until the water runs clear. Soak it for 15 minutes, then drain.
